For decades, youth baseball has followed the same formula: put 7- and 8-year-olds on competitive teams, play a lot of games, and hope they improve along the way.

We believe there's a better way.

The Junior Captains Skills Academy was created for one purpose—to build great baseball players before they begin playing competitive baseball.

Instead of spending weekends playing games where a player may only touch the ball a handful of times, our athletes spend every session learning, moving, throwing, hitting, fielding, and developing the athletic skills that will prepare them for long-term success.

This isn't "practice."

It's a structured player development program designed specifically for young athletes.

The Junior Captains Skills Academy is a 40-week baseball development program for players ages 7–8.

Players attend one 90-minute session each week from September through June, following a curriculum developed specifically for beginning baseball players.

Each lesson builds upon the previous one, so players continually develop throughout the year.

Our coaches focus on creating an environment that is energetic, encouraging, and fun while teaching the fundamentals the right way from the very beginning.

Throughout the year, players will develop:

• Proper throwing mechanics
• Catching play
• Infield and outfield fundamentals
• Hitting mechanics
• Tee work and front toss drills
• Athletic movement and coordination
• Running mechanics and base running
• Baseball IQ and game awareness
• Teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence

During the second half of the program, players will also begin learning age-appropriate arm care routines, resistance band exercises, and introductory plyo ball throwing drills that prepare them for a competitive baseball program.

Sessions will pause for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and Memorial Day weeks.

At ages 7 and 8, players improve the fastest when they're learning skills—not sitting in dugouts or waiting for the next inning.

Every Academy session is intentionally designed to maximize repetitions, individual coaching, and athletic development in the skills that matter most.

Our goal isn't simply to win games today.

Our goal is to help players become confident, fundamentally sound athletes who are prepared to thrive when they move into competitive baseball.
